FAQ

Q&A

WHAT TYPE OF THERAPY SHOULD I EXPECT?

I offer an integrative approach to counselling meaning that I will tailor the therapy according to what you bring. The primary modality will be person-centred however I have received more broader training to include creative therapy. Therapy with me is collaborative and client led.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

You are invited to contact me either by text, wattsapp, email or telephone. Alternatively you can contact me via the booking page within this website. I promise to contact you within 24 hours

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?

Therapy is individual.Clients are encouraged to take weekly sessions for the most positive outcome.  The length of the journey will depend on many things and is therefore open-ended.In any case, I will review after 6 sessions.

WHERE WILL COUNSELLING TAKE PLACE?

If you choose face-to-face counselling, this is provided in a counselling room in my home environment accessed directly via a side-entrance.  In terms of accessibility, it is a short level walk and then there are three shallow steps.

If you are having on-line counselling, this will take place in my home office where the same level of confidentiality is guaranteed.

HOW DO I KNOW YOU CAN BE TRUSTED?

I comply entirely with GDPR (data regulations).  In addition I have worked confidentially throughout my career when I including when I worked for the NHS and whilst recruiting.  Confidentiality is of utmost importance and underpins the therapy I provide.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

You don't need to bring anything to sessions with me however I would like you to be as comfortable as possible so please feel free to bring anything that you feel will act as a support.

WHAT FACILITIES DO YOU OFFER?

There is plenty of parking on the driveway and as the therapy room is access via the side entrance it gives for a discreet setting.

As in-person therapy is provided from my home environment, I am unable to offer toilet facilities.

 IS EDELWEISS INCLUSIVE?

I welcome clients who are aged 18+ and am LGBTQIA+ inclusive

Unfortunately, due to there being steps into the therapy room this may exclude clients with walking difficulties however online counselling can be offered instead.

WHAT ARE THE TRANSPORT LINKS?

There are regular buses including the 15A from Bideford Quay (Stop B) to Sentry Corner.  Edelweiss is an approximate 100 metre level walk from Sentry Corner bus stop.

You may need to take 2 buses if you are travelling from Torrington, Holsworthy or Barnstaple.
